We Do.

Do you today recognize this child as a gift of God and give heartfelt thanks for God's blessing?
Do you now dedicate her to the Lord who gave her to you surrending all worldly claims on her life in the hope that she will belong wholly to God?
Do you pledge as parents that, with God's fatherly help, you will bring her up "in the discipline and instruction of the Lord," making every reasonable effort, with patience and love, to build the Word of God, the character of Christ and the joy of the Lord into her life?
Do you promise to provide, through God's blessing, for the physical, emotional, intellectual and spiritual needs of this child, looking to your own heavenly Father for the wisdom, love and strength to serve her and not use her?
Do you promise to make it your regular prayer that by God's grace she will come to trust in Jesus Christ alone for the forgiveness of her sins and follow Him as Lord obeying His teachings?

Shirley Jean, together with people who love you very much and are concerned about the outcome of your faith, we dedicate you to God--surrendering all worldly claims upon your life in the hope that you will belong wholly to Him.

Where's the Kleenex? Beautiful. I love the picture of Gram Shirley and your dad.
I thought it meant so much that we were able to come up and lay hands on you when Porter prayed. That was cool. Shirley, you are one blessed girlie bug.

I cried more at my kiddos' dedication than the day they were born.

What a wonderful day. Now remember to repeat it every day of her life. Everytime they move away from your grasp and you want to pull them back, remember who they belong to and these promises you made. God will not disappoint you in this promise you made to him. lovemom
P.S. Pretty cool that dad's cousins Steve and Cheryl were at your baby dedication and now here for your baby's!
