This morning Shirley found ultrasound pictures from my pregnancy with Richard. I sat down to show her the images. I said, "Here is his face, his nose, see his fist? Here is his foot."
On the final picture she pointed to Richard's squiggly profile and said, "And here is my hair. It is so long and beautiful, Mama. Like Rapunzel."
I said, "Yes! Yes it is."

Clown Face
Last week, we got together with our friends over at DoW. We foolishly thought the girls could play on their own for seven minutes, but we were wrong. This is what we fould when they emerged from the bedroom. Sophia exclaimed, "Mama! I helped ShirleyJean look like a clown!"
Holy gasp!
Honestly, it was one of those parenting moments where I didn't know whether to laugh or cry...so I laughed til I cried. After all, was any real damage done? Nah. She still has all her hair, and it was "washable" marker, so, I will joyfully explain to strangers that no, the remaining marker around her eyes and hairline is not bruising...just markers "clown make up."

Friend Birthday Party
Oops! I can't believe I forgot to post pictures from the FRIEND birthday party we hosted for Shirley and Richard at the beginning of April. We invited all their friends to party with us at an indoor playground near our home. This sampling of pictures gives a good feel for how much fun we had.
